How do I get the plan number when I just have the mining lease number?
1. In both these examples there is no plan of survey for these mining leases - the best thing to do is to contact mines (qld) & confirm that is the case. Mining Leases have not always been surveyed in the past - this is an issue. The only source of what the parcel of land is is to get a copy of the ML application from the mining registrar and see how it was described:- in these cases it is the Rockhampton Mining Registrar.
2. All of the mining plans have been enrolled in CISP and most have been linked to the underlying DCDB parcel (in CISP) so the MP will/should appear in an area search - that is another possibility for your clients. Not all the MPs have been linked though so not foolproof (yet).
3. Mines have an on-line service (free) called IRTM (Interactive Resource & Tenure Mapping). This taps into the same MERLIN data base so (in theory) . It is not the most intuitive of systems sadly
