Digital plans are plans prepared using software and lodged electronically with NSW Land Registry Services (NSW LRS).
By using digital plans, surveyors can benefit from improvements and efficiencies in the land development process. Digital plans are an important part of the future of surveying as the industry embraces new technologies and digital formats.
There is no extra cost in obtaining the XML files.
The LRS now has over 500,000 plans available in a LandXML format and continues increasing this number via new lodgments and a back capture program.
As soon as you order the tiff/pdf, LRS then provides a copy instantly, if available.

If you would like to order XML files, you have the option to select the click 'XML' tab next to your plan on your Purchases page, this option is instant, when available. XML files are now combined into your CRE report, for a quick 90-second demonstration please click here.
Are all plans available as landXML?
LandXML files come from two sources
- Surveyors can lodge landXML for examination. A large number of lots are submitted this way, large greenfield subdivisions for example.
- NSW Spatial Services is back capturing every single plan that has a 'live' lot in NSW. When a new plan comes in a paper form they put this at the top of the back capture queue. We'll provide a coverage area map as not all the state is captured at this time. There is no cost if you request a landXML and it doesn't exist.
- Please note plans for SP are not available.
